This has been a whirlwind week for me. Let's see, I spoke with the Mayor of the City of Oberlin, the President of the League of Women Voters, presented at my township trustees meeting, wrote a Letter to the Editor for our local paper... OK, why am I all of a sudden into politics? Well, let me tell you...

This isn't meant to be a lesson in politics but rather a point to ponder.
I ask you if you have the right to change it because so many times it is easy to declare that it is the other person who needs to change, rather than yourself. Then you are off the hook with yourself, so to speak, to do anything about it. In my instance with our county government, our Ohio Revised Code gives citizens the right to change the government. Think about that. You have the right to change the government that you, if you are like most people, spend so much time complaining about--but you don't typically do it!
Now, I will tell you, changing the government is a pretty big deal. It is not something that one person can do on their own and it is designed just that way. I am coordinating a petition process to get 8000 signatures from registered voters to get the initiative on the November ballot so that all of the registered voters in our county can vote on it. That is not a small task nor an individual task--and I am not sure if we even have enough volunteers to do it. But I know it will never happen if we don't go for it!
What Do You Accept As Part of Your Life That You Would Like to Change?

What Do You Accept As Part of Your Life That You Would Like to Change?
If you say, "I would like to be younger. I surely can't have that!" Isn't it more about actually wanting to feel younger? Or maybe about accepting the good that is coming your way rather than dwelling on the negative? Or maybe you have a life situation that you would like to change and don't know how.
Whatever you want to change, here are the steps that will move you in the direction of progress.
Whatever you want to change, here are the steps that will move you in the direction of progress.
- Set the intention for what you want to create.
- Believe that you can create it. I have exercises I do with my clients to help them with this. As a start, I suggest that you journal on what your life would look and feel like if your intention came into being.
- Get the knowledge and support to do it. I used to be a fan of self help books, but I found that I progress much more quickly with professional help--a health coach, healer, dance instructor--depending on your goal. If you talk to the pros, none of them did it alone.
Whatever it is you want in your life, I am here for you. And if you live in Lorain County and want to sign my petition or get involved in upgrading our county government, you are welcome to join in. Every opportunity has its own blessings!
